PASTORAL STAFF

Rich Powell - LEAD pastor

Rich was born and raised in Colombia, South America, as the son of missionaries. He served as pastor of youth and music in Virginia, and then as teaching elder in a community church Michigan before coming as senior pastor of Grace Bible Church in 2003. He has earned graduate degrees through Master's Graduate School of Divinity. Rich’s main function is providing vision and biblical exposition for the church. Rich's teaching is featured on the radio on the Truth Network, and on a daily podcast called "Delight in Grace". He is also the author of the book 7 Words That Can Change Your Life. Rich and his wife, Andrea, have six grown children and ten grandchildren.

 
Bobby Locklear

BOBBY LOCKLEAR - PASTOR OF Congregational Care

Bobby Locklear, his wife, Rachel, and their five children have been part of the family of Grace since 2009. Bobby’s primary emphasis involves working with our elders and care group leadership to foster a ‘life-together’ culture of discipleship and pastoral care, where discipleship is a coordinated and intentional effort by the entire church. He is also active in teaching, leadership development, and welcoming guests into our congregational life. He is a graduate of Liberty University and is pursuing an M.Div. with Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC.

 

adam king - assistant pastor of education

Adam King began attending Grace when he was an undergraduate student at Piedmont International University in 2011. He, along with his wife, Karleigh, have served in various roles at Grace for over ten years and have three daughters — Magnolia, Tahlia, and Lillia. Adam is passionate about the role of adult and children’s education as a means for growing in the knowledge and love of God. He is active in teaching, leading a care group, and various other areas of pastoral responsibilities. He also serves as a Chaplain Candidate in the N.C. Army National Guard. He earned his B.A. in Biblical Studies at Piedmont International University in 2013 and is currently finishing an M.Div. at Liberty University.

COUNSELING MINISTRY

christopher wittlinger - Director of grace counseling ministry

Chris came to Grace Bible Church in September of 2009, when he was attending Piedmont International University. At Piedmont, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies and also met his wife, Hannah. They have been married since 2015 and have a son, Haddon (6), a daughter, Reese (5), and a son, Pierce (1). Chris has worked as a counselor and manager of a drug and alcohol recovery program, and prior to joining the staff of GBC full time, he worked for the NC Department of Public Safety as a Substance Abuse Counselor in their Alcohol and Chemical Dependency Program. Chris is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Addictions Counseling. Chris has a passion to help others walk with God through all of life’s experiences. As the Director of Grace Counseling Ministry, Chris meets with individuals, provides oversight and direction to the ministry, and helps to equip the saints with skills to help others in their times of need.
